“Expensive cars, houses, designer bags….what’s the use of all those?”
Jay Park is back. He released the finished work of his greatest effort, ‘NEW BREED’. Furthermore, it is the full-length album that contains 15 songs. Park is very different from the most of idols who usually releases digital singles just to follow the current trend or to make profits. It is more anticipating since he put his heart into every part of the album.
In the album ‘NEW BREED’ Park is not only being a singer, but also a producer. When we asked him to boast about the album as a producer, he humorously replied, “Ah, you have no idea how much money I’ve invested…about few hundred millions…”. After hearing the word “few hundred millions”, we could figure how great this album could be.
As the additional question followed up, “you’ve got to do great since you put so much money into it, don’t you?”, he also humorously answered “Yeap, gotta collect back the money I’ve put”. However, Park was somewhat relaxed and uninterested about the ranks on music charts and music broadcasts. He stated, “it’s good if the scores are high, but if not, then it’s a whatever”, and added “the important part is the satisfaction of myself and fan’s criticism, instead of the numbers such as ranks”.
Park also revealed, “Some say I should release mini albums instead of full-length album, but I have different ideas on that. I wanted to make a historical album that has high quality and make the listeners feel “wow this is so good”. Recently many singers and producers often being calculative about making music but that is very far from my style. They are more like doing a business, but for me I wanted to make the music that I love about and let the crowd listen to it.
It is obvious that Jay Park is not interested in making money. Park actually is not into expensive cars and designer products unlike most of people. He revealed, “the only reason I try to make money is because I wanted to help my family and friends, I have no other reason then that” and added “I’ rarely go out for shopping, about once a year. Not much to spend big money on and have no intention to waste it away”.
Park is planning to put aside anything complicated that is related to “business” and devout himself into the activities for the newly released album. He will also be active as long as possible for the title song “Know Your Name”.
Meanwhile, Park participated about 80% of the album as the producer, writer, composer, and artist. Also, there will be many participants who will elevate the quality of the album even more such as Dynamic Duo, Tiger JK, T, and Rob Knox who’s known as the producer of Justin Timberlake, and more. It is already having great responses from the fans and Park is planning to have comeback stage soon.
